Terms and Conditions

  (Applies to Boarding, Transportation & Home Visits)


1. Bookings & Deposits

• A 20% deposit is required to secure all bookings.
• This deposit is fully refundable if cancelled with at least 14 days’ notice prior to the scheduled start date.
• The remaining balance is due two weeks before the service commences.


2. Cancellations & Refunds

• Cancellations made with less than 14 days’ notice may result in forfeiture of the deposit.
• No refunds will be issued once services have commenced or for early collection of pets.


3. Vaccination, Flea & Worming Requirements

• All pets must be up to date with species-appropriate vaccinations.
• Pets must also be current with flea and worming treatments.
• If fleas, mites, or worms are discovered, treatment will be administered at the owner's cost.


4. Health & Medical Care

• If your pet becomes unwell during our care, we will contact you or your emergency contact immediately.
• If veterinary care is required, we will act in the pet’s best interest and seek treatment as needed.
• All veterinary expenses are the responsibility of the owner.

• I understand that occasionally illness may occur in an animal whilst boarding and understand that The Exotic Animal Inn accepts no responsibility for any illness occurring. 

• In the event that I am not contactable by the provided numbers and it has been assessed by veterinary staff that my animal’s condition has declined and/or requires veterinary attention, I understand the attending veterinarian will perform any procedures deemed necessary and in the best interest of my animal to the agreed amount I have stated in the consent form. 


5. Medication Administration

• We can only administer medications to pets who have been discharged from veterinary care and are considered stable.
• All medications must be clearly labelled with your pet’s name, dosage instructions, and vet contact details.
• We reserve the right to decline medication administration if the condition is unstable or requires professional supervision.


6. Behaviour, Handling & Containment

• If your pet enjoys human interaction, we provide one-on-one time outside of their enclosure.
• Handling may be modified depending on the pet’s temperament or comfort level to ensure safety and reduce stress.
• While we take every reasonable precaution to ensure your pet’s safety and security, including the use of secure enclosures and supervised playtime, The Exotic Animal Inn will not be held liable in the unlikely event that a pet escapes while in our care.
• Pet owners acknowledge that some animals may be skilled at escaping or may behave unpredictably when in unfamiliar environments.


7. Diet & Enrichment (Boarding Only)

• The boarding fee includes your pet’s staple diet, unlimited access to hay (species specific), daily fresh vegetables, new toys, and regular cleaning of their enclosure.
• Please notify us of any dietary needs. Special foods may need to be supplied by the owner.


8. Daily Updates

• For both boarding and home visits, daily photo and text updates will be provided so you can see how your pet is doing.


9. Social Media

• We love sharing happy moments with our guests and may post photos and/or videos of your pet to our social media pages or marketing materials.
• By booking with The Exotic Animal Inn, you consent to us taking and using such images.
• No personal identifying information about the owner will be shared without consent.


10. Personal Belongings

• You are welcome to provide comfort items such as toys or blankets.
• While we take great care, we are not responsible for any loss or damage to personal belongings left with your pet.


11. Transportation Services

• Transportation must be arranged in advance.
• Pets will travel in secure, species-appropriate carriers or crates provided by owner
• While all care is taken, The Exotic Animal Inn is not liable for injury, loss, or death arising from unforeseen circumstances, including motor vehicle accidents or traffic incidents.


12. Emergency Situations

• In emergencies (e.g. fires, floods, severe weather, or natural disasters), we will act in the best interest of your pet’s safety.
• The Exotic Animal Inn is not responsible for injury, loss, or death resulting from such events beyond our control.
• Emergency contacts listed in your consent form may be called upon to collect or assist with your pet in these situations.


13. Home Visits

• By booking a home visit, you grant The Exotic Animal Inn permission to enter your property solely for the purpose of pet care.
• It is your responsibility to ensure safe, legal, and secure access during the agreed timeframes.
• The Exotic Animal Inn is not responsible for damage, theft, or loss of property unless directly caused by proven negligence.
• Please inform us of any security systems, locked areas, or access requirements ahead of time.
• Any keys or access information provided will be stored securely and used only during the service period.
• We are not responsible for pets that escape or become injured due to insecure fencing, access points, or hazardous environments within the property.


14. Liability

• While we take every precaution to ensure the wellbeing of your pet, The Exotic Animal Inn is not liable for illness, injury, loss, or death due to pre-existing conditions, natural causes, behavioural issues, or events beyond our control.


15. Agreement to Terms

• By proceeding with a booking, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to the above Terms & Conditions.
